The Black Estate App

Plan your legacy, in plain English

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Who we are

The Black Estate App is operated by Bagwire LLC, the seller of this digital service. You contract with Bagwire LLC for access to the app. When we say "we" or "us," we mean this operator; purchases are resold by Paddle as described below.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What the app does — and does not do

The Black Estate App provides fill-in forms and plain-English explanations for common estate planning documents, such as wills, powers of attorney, health care directives, and living trusts. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and we do not give legal advice.

Using the app does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Our forms are general templates. Every state has its own rules, and your situation may have details no form can cover. We strongly recommend having a licensed attorney in your state review your finished documents before you rely on them, especially for large estates, special-needs planning, or family disputes.

Recording a property deed and starting a conservatorship are handled by your county or local court. The app explains these steps but cannot complete them for you.

Your account

You need an account to save and sign your documents. Keep your password private — anything done under your account is your responsibility. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app.

Acceptable use

You must not use the app for unlawful activity, fraud, spam, impersonation, or infringement of another person's rights. Do not upload malware, probe or interfere with security, scrape the service without permission, bypass access controls, or attempt to obtain another person's records.

The helper must not be used to generate illegal content, non-consensual deepfakes, hate speech, malware, or instructions for harmful or fraudulent activity. Do not attempt to jailbreak the helper or circumvent its safety restrictions.

AI explanations and your content

AI explanations may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. They are educational information, not legal, medical, tax, investment, or other regulated professional advice. Verify outputs against official sources and obtain qualified professional oversight when appropriate.

You are responsible for your prompts, your use of outputs, and having permission to submit any input. Do not send Social Security numbers, private estate records, financial account details, or family medical information to the helper. Review transcribed questions before sending.

You retain your rights in your inputs. As between you and us, we do not claim ownership of your generated outputs; this does not guarantee copyright protection, uniqueness, or freedom from third-party rights. We may refuse or filter outputs, restrict or remove submitted content, and suspend accounts for prohibited use. Rights holders may report infringement to the operator using the contact method below; we investigate reports and may terminate access for repeated infringement.

Purchases and payment

Single documents and bundles are one-time purchases, resold through Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles checkout, payment, applicable tax, and refunds. Prices and applicable taxes are shown before you pay. These purchases are not subscriptions and do not renew automatically.

Buying a single document or bundle unlocks signing and printing for only the document types included in that purchase. Couples purchases cover two people in the purchasing account, not separate account access or vault sharing. Single purchases are not credited toward a later bundle purchase. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, tax and refund mechanics are subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms.

Your documents

The answers you type and the documents you create belong to you. You give us a limited permission to host and process content solely to provide the service, subject to our Privacy Notice and device-side encryption. You may print, save, and use paid documents for your own personal planning.

You may not resell, republish, or redistribute the app's forms, explanations, or content as your own product.

Our intellectual property and your licence

Bagwire LLC retains ownership of the app and its software, template wording, explanations, documentation, and branding, except material belonging to third parties. A purchase grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the included document types for the people covered by your purchase. It does not transfer ownership of the service or permit resale, redistribution, reverse engineering, or circumvention of technical limits.

Availability and suspension

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may be unavailable during maintenance or outages. Keep independent copies of important documents.

We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Where safe and appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow you to address it. Refund and statutory rights remain unaffected. Data retention and deletion follow our Privacy Notice; loss of account access does not provide a way to recover a lost vault encryption password.

No guarantee of legal outcome

We work hard to make the forms and explanations accurate and easy to understand, but we can't promise that a court, a bank, or a government office will accept every document in every situation. We're not responsible for outcomes related to your documents.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. These limits do not exclude liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the app grows. We'll post the new version here with a new date. Purchase and refund support is available at paddle.net. The operator's direct support contact is awaiting publication; Paddle handles purchase support, not requests to access or delete app records.

Important notice

The Black Estate App is not a law firm or an attorney and does not give legal advice. We provide self-help forms and plain-English education only. Using this app does not create an attorney-client relationship. Laws differ by state — for complex situations, please talk with a licensed attorney.
